The Belvoir Castle Estate, Leicestershire by gracious
permission of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, was
the new venue for the 79th English Springer Spaniel
Championship. 58 dogs and their handlers, an all
time record, competed for the top honours in the
spaniel world.
Malcolm Partridge, Head-keeper took competitors
into woodland, with heavy bramble, on all three
days which meant that competitors had to face
thick cover throughout.
Judges John McKay, Jeff Rayner, Adrian Slater and
Mark Whitehouse gave all the opportunity to shine
but only the bold survived. Little surprise that very
experienced handlers took all of the top awards.
Running time 183 mins.
Filmed and produced by Paul French Video with commentary by Maurice Stanbury.
