1996 IGL Retriever Championship

History was made when 37 dogs and handlers assembled
at Holkham Estate, for the first three day Championship,
by kind permission of The Earl of Leicester.
Steward to the Beat, John King and keepers in their
unique black bowler hats produced game every metre
of ground walked.
Two days sugar beet, with the last day around Holkham
Hall saw all the dogs being well tested under judges,
June Atkinson, John Drury, Jim Gale and Bill Ferguson.
